Avoiding Scams
Stay alert and protect yourself from fraud, fake ads, suspicious payments, and unsafe online interactions.
- Do not provide payment to anyone you have not met in person.
- Check reviews and ask for references before proceeding.
- Never wire funds — anyone asking you to do so may be a scammer.
- Do not accept cashier checks or money orders from unknown users.
- Transactions are strictly between users only.
- Never share financial or sensitive personal information.
- Do not rent or purchase anything sight unseen.
- Refuse background or credit checks until meeting in person.
- Avoid unknown callers if possible. You may use your email or website instead of publicly sharing your phone number.
- Watch out for email scams that avoid face-to-face meetings or request money transfers.
